Yellow Rake cover illustration
I should thank Brian Polk every day for keeping me drawing. Look for issue 26 of the Yellow Rake and some hipster-drenched vegan cafe near you soon.

have you heard?
I just got my sample of the my last project in the mail. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but… it looks pretty swell.
The illustration was done for the 90th birthday party of a man who had worked a good part of his life for the phone company – so we went with an evolution-of-the-phone theme. The inside used a childhood photo, like so:

nave computacional & ALA websites
I was lucky enough to participate in a project in Costa Rica called “La Nave Computacional” – literally translated, “The Computer Ship,” but it sounds much cooler in Spanish – which is a curriculum designed to teach elementary-age students computer skills. Before I left the Peace Corps, I did the initial page design, and the industrious and talented Derek Kellogg cleaned up my messy HTML. Click here to see the whole site.
Along the way, I also helped design the Alianza de Liderazgo Ambiental (Environmental Leadership Alliance) website – a program led by the charming and patient Brittany Johnson designed build a new generation of young environmentalists in Costa Rica. Design of the website was mine, though the timing of the site launch and my leaving the Peace Corps made the project more difficult to coordinate than it should have been. It’s still a pretty site – and hopefully I can work with future volunteers to make it better. Click here to see the ALA website.
